Paul Chryst had a disappointing update for sophomore safety Hunter Wohler following the Week 1 win.

During the game against Illinois State, Wohler left with what appeared to be an injury to his left leg in the second half. He did not return to action and was seen on crutches with a walking boot.

According to Jeff Potrykus with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wohler is expected to be sidelined indefinitely with the injury. Chryst had previously said that he was “anxious” for test results on Wohler’s injury following the game.

“I’m kind of anxious to see kind of what exactly happens and how Hunter is and what it will be,” said Chryst.

Wohler started alongside John Torchio at safety in the season opener. He produced 3 tackles (1 solo stop) before the injury.

As a freshman, Wohler had 17 tackles, 3 TFL and a sack. Hopefully, he is back on his feet and recovers quickly for the Badgers.
