Paul Finebaum last week said that TCU’s historic undefeated season would be coming to a close in Austin against then-No.18 Texas. A week later, little has changed.
Finebaum said on ESPN’s “Get Up” Wednesday that the No. 4 Horned Frogs should be on upset watch this weekend against Baylor in Waco. TCU (10-0, 7-0 Big 12) likely will need to win its last two games, plus the Big 12 title to guarantee its spot in the College Football Playoff.
“Missed last week, I’m doubling down on TCU,” Finebaum said. “They’re on a tough road stretch. They won at Austin last week, now they go to Baylor… They’re very dangerous at home and I don’t know how to break this to my friends in Fort Worth, but I’m just not that impressed with TCU. They don’t match up very well on a neutral site against anyone in the top 10.”
This is such a painfully awful take.
TCU is absolutely hated on by SEC talking heads like Paul Finebaum because they want to see at least two of Georgia, Tennessee, LSU, and Alabama in the playoffs. pic.twitter.com/UqlXq0u8ob

In last week’s 17-10 win over the Longhorns, TCU’s defense held Texas to under 200 yards of offense and eliminated the potent rushing attack of Bijan Robinson and Roschon Johnson. Max Duggan connected with Quentin Johnston for a 31-yard touchdown in the 4th quarter, but also coughed up a fumble that was returned by Jahdae Barron for a 48-yard score.
Last season, TCU played spoiler for Baylor with a 30-28 win over the Bears in Amon G. Carter Stadium. With the loss, Baylor finished as a 2-loss conference champion, all but eliminating the program from making the final 4.
Will the Bears ruin Sonny Dykes’ perfect season in Year 1? Kickoff from McLane Stadium is set for Noon E.T.
