Paul Finebaum has prediction for college football world if Georgia wins back-to-back national titles

Paul Finebaum thinks that Nick Saban’s football crown could be in Jeopardy if Georgia were to win back-to-back national championships.

The analyst recently joined ESPN’s ‘First Take’ to talk about the upcoming College Football Playoff matchups. Georgia will meet Ohio State in the Peach Bowl on Saturday.

Georgia will have a close to home-field advantage and a hometown crowd on Saturday, but Ohio State will be looking to disrupt Georgia’s title hopes behind the arm of QB C.J. Stroud. The Bulldogs are 6.5 point favorites in the matchup.

If Georgia were to win a second title in as many years, Finebaum says that Kirby Smart might be next in line for the football throne.

“I think what it means is that suddenly there’s a new king in college football and it’s not Nick Saban. I say that because Saban has 7 national championships and he’s won 6 championships since 2009. What makes this even more interesting is that Kirby Smart is a disciple of Nick Saban. It would be a remarkable achievement for Smart.”
