One of the leading names in college football has updated his top four.
SEC Network host and college football analyst Paul Finebaum provided an update on his top four teams through six weeks of the college football season. He continues to leave out three Power Five conferences.
Finebaum listed Alabama (No.1), Ohio State (No. 2), Georgia (No. 3) and Notre Dame (No. 4) as his top four college football teams at this point in the season. His inclusion of two SEC programs and an independent means the ACC, Big XII and Pac-12 would be out of the College Football Playoff picture.
The four teams that Finebaum listed have been popular choices this week, particularly after the Irish defeated Virginia Tech in Blacksburg. There are still some folks who have Clemson in the mix.
We’ve obviously still got a long way to go, but it would be interesting to see if the CFB Playoff committee would leave three power conferences out of the bracket.
Fortunately there’s still half a season before a decision needs to be made.
