Paul Finebaum has developed a bit of a reputation as a Jim Harbaugh hater with the two individuals engaging in a feud of sorts over the years. However, Finebaum recently revealed he nearly buried the hatchet with Michigan’s head coach.

In a discussion with Andy Staples, Finebaum said he ran into former Indiana and Georgia basketball coach Tom Crean, Harbaugh’s brother-in-law. Finebaum explained the feud and Crean eventually tried to arrange a meeting between the two.

“In the middle of the Finebaum-Harbaugh feud, we almost buried the hatchet a couple years ago. Remember the basketball coach at Georgia who is his brother-in-law? (Tom Crean) and I ran into each other one night in Destin,” said Finebaum. “He said ‘What’s the deal with you and Jim?’ I explained it to him, it goes back to something I said about (Harbaugh) and he tweeted my name incorrectly (as) Pete Finebaum…”

Crean tried to arrange a meeting between Finebaum and Harbaugh at a golf tournament the head coach was having in Ann Arbor, and Finebaum nearly agreed. Unfortunately, Finebaum was going to Hollywood to pitch a sitcom idea on his “Paul Finebaum Show” and the meeting never happened.

“Tom Crean said ‘Is there any chance you can come up here next weekend? I’m at Jim’s parent’s house right now, Jim’s here, John’s here and Jim’s having a golf tournament. He’d like to play with you,” Finebaum explained. “Andy, I know this sounds like a line here, but it’s 100% true. The very weekend he wanted me to come up to Ann Arbor, I was going to Hollywood to try and sell a sitcom on the Finebaum Show. It had been 2 years in the making… Had it not been for that, Jim Harbaugh and I would be besties right now.”
