The many looks of Urban Meyer became a popular topic over the weekend. As Ohio State found itself in a battle with Maryland in College Park, the Buckeyes head coach was often seen on the sideline bent over, head in his hands, looking as bad as we’ve ever seen.

Was it a medical issue? Did Meyer succumb to those unbearable headaches he’s talked about this season? Or was it frustration boiling over from Ohio Sate’s poor play on Saturday?

Regardless of the reason, Meyer’s actions on the sideline were painful to watch, according to SEC Network host Paul Finebaum, who made his comments on WJOX Monday morning.

“He shouldn’t be back,” Finebaum said of Meyer’s status for 2019. “Even if everything was perfect between Urban Meyer and Ohio State University, this is someone who needs a break.”

Meyer’s health has been a topic of concern recently. It surfaced in early October during Ohio State’s game against Indiana, when he was dropped to a knee due to an excruciatingly painful headache.

A few days later, Meyer said he was “fine” and was given some medicine for the pain. The circumstances haven’t affected Meyer’s belief that he’ll return to Columbus in 2019, either. When asked whether he planned to be in charge of the Buckeyes next season, Meyer simply responded with “yes.”

Finebaum says that, regardless of what Meyer has said, it might be best for the head coach to step away at the end of the year.

“What was really perplexing was all the human cry two weeks ago from Urban, from the president, from the AD, from his doctors and it’s not going to wash away what we saw (in College Park),” Finebaum said. “This is an excruciatingly painful things to watch. It’s just hard to watch.”
