Paul Finebaum has updated his College Football Playoff rankings following the final week of the regular season.

After the chaos that ensued in the final weekend of the regular season, there will be plenty of changes in the College Football Playoff poll, which will be released Tuesday night. But before the selection committee gets its chance to way in, the SEC Network host wanted to update his top six.

To no surprise, Finebaum has two SEC teams in the top four spots. Here’s how he’s ranked the top six teams entering Championship Saturday:

  1. Alabama
  2. Clemson
  3. Notre Dame
  4. Georgia
  5. Ohio State
  6. Oklahoma

In a bit of a surprising move, Finebaum did give the B1G some credit, placing Ohio State above Oklahoma. But the Buckeyes are still on the outside looking in.

There will be plenty of debate over the next several days regarding the rankings, particularly between Oklahoma and Ohio State. If both win their conference championship games, things could get very interesting come Selection Sunday.

Let’s not even get into a scenario where Georgia defeats Alabama in the SEC title game.

We’ll see if Finebaum’s rankings are similar to what the College Football Playoff selection committee releases Tuesday evening.
