Penn State adds 4-star defensive lineman to Class of 2027 ranks

Penn State football added a commitment from Class of 2027 defensive lineman Stanley Montgomery on Thursday, the Nittany Lions’ 13th commitment of the 2027 cycle thus far.
Montgomery is also the top-ranked prospect added by head coach Matt Campbell. He’s a 4-star prospect and considered to be the No. 65 overall player in the 2027 rankings per 247Sports. Montgomery is also considered to be the No. 6 overall DL and No. 5 prospect out of Pennsylvania.
Montgomery hails from Archbishop Ryan HS in Philadelphia and stands at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds. He chose Penn State over Kentucky, Virginia, Rutgers and Texas A&M, to name a few.
Penn State’s Class of 2027 is really starting to take shape. The Nittany Lions boast the No. 5 overall class in the cycle according to 247Sports, behind only Oklahoma, Ohio State, USC and Texas A&M.
Montgomery is one of 2 defensive lineman added to Campbell’s 2027 recruiting class. He joins 3-star defensive lineman Carter Blattner, who hails from Allendale, New Jersey.
