Penn State continues to rake in the commitments in the month of July.

The Nittany Lions received a verbal commitment from 3-star safety Kevin Winston on Saturday afternoon. He’s the 23rd player of the 2022 class to pledge to Penn State.

Winston, a native of Hyattsville, Maryland, held multiple B1G offers. He picked Penn State over Maryland and Michigan State out of the conference, as well as Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Cincinanti, Ole Miss, Tennessee and others.

Winston is listed at 6-foot-2, 190 pounds and ranks as the No. 13 player out of Maryland, per 247Sports Composite. He’s also ranked as the No. 45 safety in the class.

The 3-star defensive back joins a Penn State recruiting class that ranks No. 2 in both in the B1G and the nation.

Penn State has been busy in the month of July. The Nittany Lions have received 11 verbal pledges in the month.
