On Tuesday, the Nittany Lions secured their quarterback for the cycle, striking early to grab one of the top players at the position. The player is Troy Huhn, a blue-chip QB out of Mission Hills High School in San Marcos, California.
Huhn’s other offers include Florida State, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Oregon and Texas among others. Now, he gives Penn State another elite prospect to jumpstart the 2026 recruiting class.

Huhn is listed at 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds as a 4-star recruit and the 108th player in the country per the 247 Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 10 QB in the country for the class of 2026.
We are still in the very early stages of the 2026 recruiting cycle, but the Nittany Lions are off to a strong start. Huhn gives Penn State a pair of blue-chip players to begin the class, joining 4-star athlete Messiah Mickens, the No. 3 player from the state of Pennsylvania for the cycle.
