McClain is a former 4-star prospect who played for 2 seasons at Florida State. He was the No. 283 overall prospect in the country for the class of 2021, per 247Sports Composite rankings. McClain was a contributor in each of the last 2 seasons for the Noles.
During his career at FSU, he caught 33 passes for 396 yards and 5 touchdowns. Although he received solid playing time early in his career, McClain opted to enter the portal in search of a bigger role. Florida State is set to return most of its wide receiver production for next season and signed 5-star Hykeem Williams in the class of 2023.
McClain now joins a Penn State WR room that is loaded with potential for next season. Penn State returns KeAndre Lambert-Smith and Harrison Wallace and also earned a commitment from highly-touted Kent State WR transfer Dante Cephas.
