There has been a schedule change at Penn State for the 2026 season. The Nittany Lions have added a new team to their schedule.
News broke on Thursday that Penn State scheduled a home game against Buffalo for the 2026 season per FBSchedule’s Kevin Kelley.
2026 will mark the fifth meeting between the Nittany Lions and Bulls. The last time that the two teams met was in 2019. Penn State won handily by a score of 45-13. Sean Clifford threw for 279 yards passing with 4 touchdowns to lead the Nittany Lions to victory.
If Penn State earns another victory against Buffalo, its record will move to 4-1 in the series. The one win that Buffalo has over Penn State came in 1900 and was decided by a score of 10-0.
Penn State reached the Rose Bowl and beat Utah 35-21 to finish the year at 11-2 as Clifford ended his career on a high note. It will now be Drew Allar’s turn to man the offense as he is the expected starter in 2023.
Buffalo reached a bowl game once again in 2022 after missing out last season. The Bulls played in the Camelia Bowl much like they did in 2020. Buffalo ended up beating Georgia Southern 23-21 to finish the year at 7-6.
These two programs will now meet on the gridiron since 2019.
