More depth is being added to Penn State’s wide receiver room, this time through the transfer portal.
Former Western Kentucky wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley announced via Instagram that he will be transferring to Penn State. He was an All-Conference USA wide receiver and spent two seasons with the Hilltoppers, initially committing to WKU out of junior college.
During the 2021 season, Tinsley had 87 catches for 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns. He will fill a major void left by Nittany Lions star receiver Jahan Dotson, who will head to the 2022 NFL Draft.

Tinsley was outstanding in Western Kentucky’s games against B1G teams. Against Indiana, he had 4 catches for 68 yards. A week later against Michigan State, the receiver hauled in 7 receptions for 127 yards.
Penn State ended the 2021 season with a 7-5 record and is heading to the Outback Bowl to play Arkansas.
