There’s very little change in Penn State’s uniform. While most college football programs have developed alternate uniforms or have entirely changed their look, the Nittany Lions have the same look year after year.
But Penn State will have a special uniform for the 2019 Homecoming game against Purdue. During Saturday’s spring game, the school announced it will sport its throwback uniform against the Boilermakers on Oct. 5.
Penn State released a video of the throwback uniform.

Penn State just announced its wearing its throwback uniform for Homecoming this year against Purdue. Stripes back on the pants, numbers on the helmet.

The uniform features numbers on the helmets and stripes on the pants, features not on the modern uniform.
Penn State doesn’t make many changes to the uniform and it doesn’t really have an alternate look. But the throwback uniform has gone over well in the past and a yearly tradition doesn’t seem like too much of a change for a program with such a rich tradition.
