The Nittany Lions are gearing up for 2019, but James Franklin announced Saturday that one member of his staff is leaving the program.

According to Greg Pickel with Penn Live, Franklin announced that Jemal Griffin is leaving Penn State. Griffin’s title was listed as Chief of Staff. He held the same title while working alongside Franklin during his time at Vanderbilt:

Jemal Griffin, who has been Franklin’s Chief of Staff at both Vanderbilt and so far with the Nittany Lions, has taken a promotion at the University of St. Thomas. He’ll work there in the athletic department with Phil Esten, the former PSU assistant athletic director who is now the Director of Athletics at the school in Minnesota.

Franklin also announced that Kevin Threlkel is being promoted to fill Griffin’s position. That promotion leaves Penn State looking for a new Director of Football Administration.
