Penn State basketball picks up commitment from transfer guard from Binghamton

Penn State basketball has made a big splash this offseason, adding a highly-touted transfer guard to the roster.
On Monday night, former Binghamton guard Sam Sessoms announced on Twitter that he will be transferring to Penn State. Due to NCAA transfer guidelines, he will be forced to sit out for the 2020-21 season, and will then be eligible for the 2021-22 campaign, according to the Centre Daily Times.

Sessoms is a 6-foot guard who spent two seasons at Binghamton before deciding to transfer. He’s an outstanding scorer who is excellent at creating his own shot on the floor. This past season, he averaged 19.4 points per game while shooting 41.5 percent from the floor and 31.5 percent from 3-point range.
He also averaged 4.8 assists and 5.0 rebounds per contest. Sessoms scored a career-high 40 points against Boston and ended the season with a 38-point performance against New Hampshire.
As a freshman in the 2018-19 season, Sessoms averaged 17.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game.
