Speca had offers from programs like Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Tennessee and Texas A&M, amongst others. He took unofficial visits to Michigan, Tennessee and South Carolina before last season. He’s also made multiple trips to Penn State.
He’s a major addition to Penn State’s 2024 recruiting class. He ranks as the No. 328 overall player and the No. 26 linebacker in the country, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 9 player from the state of Pennsylvania.
Speca attends Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds.
Speca is the 2nd prospect to join Penn State’s 2024 recruiting class. Fellow Pennsylvania native and 4-star offensive lineman Cooper Cousins committed to the Nittany Lions in January of 2022. It’s still very early in the cycle, but Penn State’s class ranks No. 21 nationally according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
