Penn State just added a big-time prospect to its 2025 recruiting class.

The Nittany Lions landed a commitment from 4-star cornerback Jahmir Joseph. He chose Penn State over programs such as Notre Dame, Georgia, Auburn and Stanford, amongst others.

He shared the news of his commitment with On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Monday night:

Joseph is a significant pickup for the Nittany Lions. He’s the No. 209 overall player and the No. 23 cornerback in the country for the class of 2025, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 5 player from the state of New Jersey.

Joseph attends St. Joseph Regional in Montvale, New Jersey. If he ends up signing with Penn State, it would be the second straight cycle that Penn State has signed a player out of the Garden State. He’s listed at 6-foot, 185 pounds.

Penn State is now up to 15 commits in the class of 2025. Joseph is the 3rd cornerback to join Penn State’s class so far, along with 4-star Daryus Dixson and 3-star Xxavier Thomas. Overall, Penn State’s 2025 class ranks No. 11 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Joseph will be able to officially sign with Penn State in December during the Early Signing Period. Here are some highlights from his high school career:

Penn State is hoping to have a big season in 2024. The Nittany Lions are currently -145 to make the College Football Playoff in this season, according to the latest odds from FanDuel.
