Penn State is locked in a hard fight on the road against Wisconsin, but the Nittany Lions came up with a crucial takeaway and points to swing things in the 2nd half.

Trailing 10-7 and playing without starting quarterback Drew Allar, Penn State was looking for a spark from anyone. Jaylen Reed delivered from the defensive side of the ball.

Facing a 3rd-and-long from deep in Wisconsin territory, QB Braedyn Locke let loose on an ill-advised throw that never had a chance. He was targeting a Badger over the middle of the field, but the throw never got home with Reed clogging the throwing lane.

After that, Reed was off to the races, returning the interception 19 yards for a clean pick-6.

It is the 4th career interception for Reed and the 2nd of his 2024 season. However, it’s the first pick-6 in Reed’s career and comes at a particularly opportune moment.

Wisconsin has since added a field goal to make it 14-13, Nittany Lions, as the 4th quarter gets set to begin. Now, it’s up to the Penn State offense to do just enough to put this one to bed.
