Penn State DT hits transfer portal days after Nittany Lions wrap up spring ball

Just a few days after Penn State closed out the spring season with the Blue-White Game, a defensive tackle has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Cole Brevard, a 6-foot-3, 330-pound defensive lineman, is looking for a new home. Matt Zenitz of On 3 reported the news on Monday morning. Brevard spent two seasons with the Nittany Lions before deciding to transfer.
Brevard did not see any game action during his first year with the program in 2020. Last fall, he made his college debut in Penn State’s Nov. 20 victory over Rutgers.
Because of the NCAA’s COVID-19 waiver for the 2020 season and Brevard’s redshirt status last fall, he will still have all four years of eligibility to utilize at his next destination.
As a high school prospect, Brevard was a 4-star recruit in the 2020 class. The Carmel, Ind. native was ranked as the top overall player from the state and was listed as the No. 19 defensive tackle for the cycle. Overall, Brevard was ranked No. 203 nationally.
Several B1G programs extended an offer to Brevard during the recruiting process. Along with Penn State, he also received interest from Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin.
