Penn State reached into the ACC to hire a director of high school relations.

Khalil Ahmad announced his departure from Syracuse on Friday via Twitter, but did not disclose his new role at Penn State. Ahmad joined the program in February 2022, and recently was temporarily elevated to help with off-campus recruiting after Syracuse lost a slew of assistants.

Ahmad previously worked at Rutgers in player development. He’s a native of Montclair, New Jersey, and before Rutgers served for 2 years as assistant head coach/offensive and recruiting coordinator at Paterson Eastside High School in helping turn the program around on the way to back-to-back winning seasons. That included a postseason berth in 2019 and being in position in 2020, according to his Syracuse bio.
