Penn State and Memphis are meeting in the 2019 Cotton Bowl. This is the 84th time the game is being played.
In the first half, Penn State put together a first half that was more explosive than any team has in multiple ways:
The 35 points scored by Penn State in the 1st half set the Cotton Bowl record for points in the 1st half, breaking the mark of 34 pts. set by USC (1995).
The 28 points scored in the 2nd quarter are Cotton Bowl record (prev. rec. 21 by Rice (1938), Notre Dame (1978) & LSU (2011).

The 35 points scored in the first half by #PennState are the second-most points scored in any half in Cotton Bowl history behind Penn State’s 38 points in the second half against Baylor in 1975.

Again, Penn State has scored 35 points in the first half alone and leads at halftime 35-23. The Nittany Lions scoring 28 points in the second quarter was very fun to watch and was historically dominating.

All of that said, Penn State still only leads by 12. Memphis has shown big-play ability all year long and has averaged over 40 points per game for the season for a reason.
The game is being televised on ESPN.
