Penn State watched a 4-star recruit flip and sign elsewhere during the Early Signing Period on Thursday.

Defensive back Conrad Hussey out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, officially signed a letter of intent with the Florida State Seminoles. Hussey originally committed to the Nittany Lions back in April of 2022. However, the star DB took an under-the-radar unofficial visit to Florida State in June.

Then, earlier in December, Hussey took an official visit with the Seminoles, seemingly making his mind up.

At his signing ceremony, Hussey pushed aside a Penn State, Miami, and Florida State hat. Hussey reached for a bag and pulled out a Florida State hoodie and hat.

Hussey is ranked by 247Sports Composite as the 19th-best safety in the nation and the 47th-best prospect out of Florida.

Luckily for the Nittany Lions, the team still has a trio of 4-star safeties in the class of 2023. DaKaari Nelson, Elliott Washington, and King Mack are just some of the pieces that compromise Penn State’s 14th-ranked 2023 class.
