Penn State is working on the 2025 recruiting class, and the Nittany Lions landed an elite athlete to go with the group Friday evening.

The latest commitment comes from Jeff Exinor Jr., a 4-star athlete and dynamic playmaker out of the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland. Exinor had received a strong set of offers, including interest from Maryland, Virginia Tech and Syracuse among others.

Exinor is listed at 6-foot-2 and 220 pounds and has played wide receiver throughout high school. He’s rated as a 4-star ATH per the 247 Sports Composite and the No. 11 ATH in the country. He’s also the 273rd overall prospect for the 2025 recruiting class.

Exinor is likely to play receiver at the next level, but his physical development could dictate a change. If that happens, he would likely slot into a hybrid tight end role, but that should fit perfectly in the offensive scheme of new offensive coordinator Andy Kotelnicki.

Impact for Penn State

Exinor becomes the 20th hard commitment for Penn State in the 2025 recruiting cycle, and James Franklin’s Nittany Lions are currently aiming for a top-10 recruiting class. The group currently ranks No. 6 in the country per the 247 Sports Team Composite.

While the Nittany Lions do not have a 5-star prospect committed, 12 of the commitments have a 4-star rating on the composite. Penn State also has an average score of 90.07 across the class, a testament to the quality within the group.
