Since renewing their rivalry in 2016, the Penn State Nittany Lions and Pitt Panthers haven’t played under the lights.
That will change this year, it appears, as the Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Friday that they were moving their home game against the Miami Marlins.
Per reporter Matt Fortuna, the Pirates will play at 1:05 p.m. Eastern time instead of 7:05 p.m., which will allow the football game to be played at nearby Heinz Field at night:
Some potential college football news dropped by the Pirates just now: Bucs move their Sept. 8 game vs. Marlins from 7:05 to 1:05 ET "to allow the University of Pittsburgh to schedule its gridiron clash with Penn State University at night."

The two rivals have split the last two meetings, with Penn State winning at home last season. However, Pitt won at Heinz Field in a thrilling game in 2016.
This year’s game should be even more exciting, as the nighttime atmosphere will make it seem like an even bigger deal.
