Jordan Stout is heading to the 2022 NFL Draft. The punter won’t be returning as he is a redshirt senior.

Stout has been with Penn State since 2019 after transferring from Virginia Tech in June of that same year. He appeared in 22 games for the Nittany Lions in his career with them. Stout announced his decision from his Twitter account on Tuesday.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Nittany nation, the love, encouragement and continuous support you have shown me during my time at PSU has been unbelievable,” said Stout. “I can’t think of a better fan base in all of college football. I wish I could personally thank each and every person who has supported me along the way.

“To my friends, girlfriend, and family [especially my parents], you all are my “why” and you are the reason I go to work each and every day. You all give me the motivation to go in and put 1000% of my effort into being the best player and person I can be. For that I thank you. With that being said, I will be declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft. Thank you to everyone that has been a part of this journey.”

While Stout was mainly known as a punter, he also kicked for the Nittany Lions as well. This season, he went 16-of-23 on field goals. His longest field goal made this year was a 52-yarder. Stout also had a field goal percentage of 62.5% for his career.

As a punter, he finished the 2021 season with an average of 46 yards per punt, with his longest of the season being 76 yards.

Stout will surely be missed by Penn State fans.
