Penn State had one special member on the sidelines for the impressive Cotton Bowl win.
During the trip to the Cotton Bowl, the Nittany Lions made the rounds to a local children’s hospital over the holidays. One of those kids was Grant Henderson, a special 13-year-old who has definitely been through a lot.
On Wednesday, Penn State Football shared a video of Henderson’s story, including getting to spend time with Penn State players and head coach James Franklin. Among other things, Henderson had the opportunity to serve as the honorary captain for the Nittany Lions in their New Year’s Six appearance.

We hope our guy Grant enjoyed his week with #PennState Football as much as we enjoyed having him.@Childrens#WeAre pic.twitter.com/Uf77DWjRAN— Penn State Football (@PennStateFball) January 9, 2020
