This is not the start Penn State was hoping for.

According to media reports from folks in State College, star tight end Pat Freiermuth is in street clothes:

Freiermuth appeared to be limited in Penn State’s loss last week to Nebraska. He still caught seven passes for 113 yards.

This is a huge loss for the Nittany Lions in a game they have to win to avoid moving to 0-5 on the season. To make matters worse, Iowa is hitting its stride — the Hawkeyes last two wins have come by a combined score of 84-14.

Freiermuth is Penn State’s all-time leader in touchdown catches for a tight end. So far this season, he has 23 catches for 310 yards and a touchdown.

Kick off is at 3:30 p.m. ET.
