The Nittany Lions grabbed early momentum as they got the first turnover of the day. LB Curtis Jacobs picked off Illinois QB Art Sitkowski, giving Penn State good field position.

Penn State was not able to capitalize off the turnover.

Illinois lost to Wisconsin in its last outing, losing 24-0. They are 2-5 on the season and 1-3 in B1G play.
