Penn State suffers epic collapse after leading by as much as 17 vs. Wisconsin

The Penn State Nittany Lions led by as much as 17 during Saturday’s evening’s 24-20 loss to Wisconsin. Penn State won the turnover margin by 2 and led by multiple possessions for most of the game.
…And still lost. What’s worse? It all went down in front of Penn State’s home crowd.
As alluded to above, Penn State leapt out to a 17-0 lead to start this one, taking advantage of back-to-back interceptions by Wisconsin quarterback Colton Joseph, who wound up throwing 3 interceptions on the evening.
Joseph and the Badgers offense responded well in the second half, though. The former Old Dominion quarterback posted a pair of touchdown drives in the 4th quarter, including a 6-play, 85-yard scoring drive that lasted just 1 minute and 15 seconds against the clock. A good chunk of those yards came on this play, a 72-yard go-ahead touchdown connection with tight end Jacob Harris.

Despite leading for much of the afternoon, Penn State’s offense just couldn’t slam the door shut. The Nittany Lions collected 12 first downs compared to Wisconsin’s 18 and finished with 233 total yards compared to the Badgers’ 355.
Wisconsin and Penn State are now 3-1 on the season. Next up for the Badgers, Wisconsin travels home to face off against Michigan State. As for the Nittany Lions, Penn State will look to bounce back next Friday at Northwestern.
