The month of June has been a bit of a rollercoaster for Penn State in the recruiting game, but things took a positive turn on Thursday morning.
Four-star athlete Enzo Jennings — one of the top 100 overall players in the 2020 class — gave his verbal pledge to the Nittany Lions on Thursday. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound high school star chose Penn State over offers from over two dozen other programs.
Jennings made his announcement via Twitter.

Jennings is a product of Oak Park, Michigan, choosing to defer on offers from in-state programs like Michigan and Michigan State. He was also strongly considering Georgia, Kentucky, Auburn and Alabama, according to 247Sports.
With Jennings’ commitment, Penn State’s 2020 recruiting class now has 14 members, ranking 15th nationally and third in the B1G, behind Ohio State and Michigan. The Buckeyes and Wolverines are both in the top 10.
Per 247Sports, Jennings is the No. 100 player in the 2020 class and is the No. 7 athlete. He’s also the third-best player from the state of Michigan, making it quite the steal for James Franklin and company. Jennings is currently the highest-ranked player to verbally commit to Penn State.
This is a huge addition for the Nittany Lions, which now have five players with a four-star ranking committed in the cycle.
