Penn State is starting to find its groove against Memphis!

After a bit of a sluggish start, James Franklin’s squad is starting to put up numbers against the Tigers. Memphis came out of the gate and scored on its first three possessions, but Penn State was quick to answer.

The Nittany Lions already held a lead as they were driving on this play. Looking to stretch the lead with another first-half touchdown, QB Sean Clifford connected with Pat Freiermuth on a short out route.

Freiermuth was wide open for the catch and headed down the sideline. One Memphis defender stepped in the way, but the would-be tackler was much smaller than the star tight end.

The end result was predictable:

That play set up a short touchdown run for Devyn Ford to boost Penn State’s lead. Needless to say, Penn State is more than happy Freiermuth will return for the 2020 season.
