There have been more cancellations and postponements in The Big Ten than we’re able to count since sports returned to play this fall.
The latest victim is Sunday’s men’s basketball tilt between Penn State and Wisconsin. Both programs released statements announcing the decision to postpone the game. This is the first overall Big Ten men’s conference matchup to be postponed.

Originally, the game was a set for a Noon ET tipoff. At this point, a rescheduled time and date has yet to be announced. Unlike football, men’s basketball games are able to be rescheduled.
Based on the statements, it appears that this problem has more to do with Penn State’s COVID-19 issues as Wisconsin said in its statement the team will return to practice on Monday and is set to play Indiana on Thursday.
This is the Nittany Lions’ second postponed game of the season. Their season opener against Drexel was also postponed.
Penn State currently sits a 3-4 and 0-3 in B1G play. The latest loss came this past Wednesday when the Nittany Lions lost a close game to Indiana, 87-85.
Meanwhile, the Badgers sit in the top 10 and are off to a 9-2 start, 3-1 in conference play. After Wisconsin stubbed its toe on the road at Maryland early last week, the Badgers rebounded nicely with a 71-59 win over rival Minnesota on New Year’s Eve.
