Penn State’s Jordan Stout receives national honor after stellar outing vs. Illinois

Penn State is 5-2 2-2 in B1G play and is No. 20 in the Week 9 edition of the AP Top-25 poll.

The Nittany Lions dropped out of the top 10 and down 13 spots after being upset in a 9OT thriller against Illinois 20-18.

It was a monsoon in Happy Valley on Saturday, and special teams play was crucial in the game. Penn State punter/kicker Jordan Stout won the Ray Guy award for Punter of the Week for his performance against Illinois.

Stout had 8 punts for 375 yards averaging 46.8 yards per punt and a long of 55. He was 3-of-4 on FG and 1-of-1 on PATs on the day.

For the season, Stout has 37 punts that have traveled 1,790 yards on 48.4 yards per punt.

He is 21-of-22 on extra points, which is good for 95.5% and is 11-of-15 from FG, which is good for 73.3% and has 54 points on the year.

Penn State heads to the Shoe take on No. 5 Ohio State under the lights in Columbus, OH., at 7:30 ET on ABC.
