The Illinois Fighting Illini unveiling new Nike uniforms Friday for the 2018 season.

Illinois unveiled four new football jerseys and pants (navy blue, orange, white and gray) and one new orange helmet. The following is a description from the team’s website about the new uniforms:

The uniforms are from the Nike Vapor Untouchable line, with stretch-woven material, a seamless front and shoulders and laser perforation fabric instead of mesh. The uniforms combine materials and science designed for speed and comfort for the players, based on four core principles – fit, durability, weight and core body temperature.

The uniforms are inspired by the Dick Butkus era jerseys of the 1960s, and the helmet uses a shade of orange that matches the uniforms and no longer has a metallic matte finish, according to the team’s website.
