Pittsburgh HC Pat Narduzzi discusses chatter surrounding Rutgers vacancy

Rutgers is officially looking for a new head coach after Chris Ash was dismissed Sunday.
Unfortunately, Ash was never able to get things to click with a 4-8 season in 2017 his best mark with the Scarlet Knights. Now, Rutgers is moving on under interim coach Nunzio Campanile while a head coaching search is conducted.
One of the names that has been connected to the vacancy is Pittsburgh head coach Pat Narduzzi. Narduzzi is a coach with connections to the conference and the region. He is a Connecticut native and former top assistant of Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio.
Narduzzi recently addressed the Rutgers rumors in his weekly press conference, and he sure did his best to shoot down any possibility of leaving Pitt. Garrett Stepien with 247 Sports shared Narduzzi’s comments:
“I signed a long-term contract here a few years ago and my daughter’s a senior in high school right now, she’ll be a freshman next year in college and I’m here at Pitt,” Narduzzi said. “I’m staying at Pitt. It’s real simple.”
There’s always the chance his comments are a big smokescreen, but it sure sounds like he is committed to the Panthers.
