PJ Fleck has agreed to another contract extension with Minnesota.

This extension will secure Fleck’s future with the Golden Gophers through 2030, the program announced on Wednesday.

Financial terms of the deal were not announced, so it’s unclear if Fleck also earned a significant raise in addition to the extension. Fleck made $6.7 million for the 2024 season.

Fleck has led Minnesota to a 58-39 record overall in the 8 seasons since he took over as head coach. He is currently 5th on Minnesota’s all-time wins list and could climb as high as 4th if the Golden Gophers win at least 7 games this fall.

Since 1950, only Murray Warmath (1954-71) and Glen Mason (1997-2006) have won more football games as Minnesota’s head coach than Fleck.

Fleck also owns a .597 winning percentage, which is 3rd-best in program history among coaches with more than 40 games coached. He trails only Henry L. Williams (1900-21) and Bernie Bierman (1932-41, ’45-50) in that category.

Fleck has been an excellent postseason coach. He’s 6-0 in bowl games since joining Minnesota. No other coach in program history has more than 3 bowl victories.

Minnesota will open the 2025 season with Buffalo on Aug. 28.
