This comes after he recently beat melanoma just a few months ago. However, the type of lymphoma that Vitale was diagnosed with has a 90% cure rate.
On Tuesday, Vitale received a heartfelt gift from Minnesota Football. He originally thought the gift was from the rowing team since it was an oar.

Later, he learned that PJ Fleck and the football team were the one’s who sent it to him. It is signed by the majority of the football team and all of the coaches.
The reason they sent it is because Minnesota Football’s motto this season has been ‘We are Rowing’.
Wow I was told a few minutes ago that the OAR sent to me fom @UMNews really was from @Coach_Fleck & @GopherFootball as I was told the theme he has adopted is we r Rowing with u .To all of the GOLDE GOPHERS it lifted my spirits as I was doing my CHEMO . Gophers r #awesomebaby
