PJ Fleck reveals No. 1 thing heard from fans while at Minnesota State Fair

PJ Fleck has been the head coach of the Minnesota Golden Gophers since 2017.
During his time at Minnesota, the Golden Gophers have a record of 44-27 (62.0%). The 44 wins rank 5th all-time at Minnesota, and it also includes a 2019 season where they won 11 games, which was the most at Minnesota since 1904. They also won a share of the Big Ten West championship that year.
However, despite a good start to his time at Minnesota, when fans saw him at the Minnesota State Fair, they weren’t congratulating him on the success.
They were asking if he was ever going to get a win against their biggest rival, Iowa.

“Beat Iowa” … “and why haven’t you?”

It hasn’t been for a lack of trying, as the last 2 games have been decided by a total of 8 points, including last year’s 13-10 loss at home. Four of the 6 losses have been decided by less than 7 points.
The Golden Gophers open up the 2023 season at home on August 31 against Nebraska. They’ll have a chance at scoring that elusive win over the Hawkeyes on October 21 in Iowa City.
