Most of the focus in recruiting is on the 2022 class right now, but that doesn’t stop teams from looking ahead. On Wednesday, Indiana received some good news regarding a 2023 prospect.
Denzel Moore, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound linebacker out of Suwanee, Georgia, gave his verbal commitment to IU on Wednesday. He’s the first pledge the Hoosiers have received with the class. Moore made his announcement with a post on Twitter.
“Without further ado, I would like to announce that I am 100% committed to Indiana University,” Moore wrote. “Thanks to Coach Peoples and Coach Warren and the entire Indiana staff for giving me this opportunity to compete at the next level.”

Because it’s so early in the process, Moore does not have any rankings from 247Sports or an evaluation at this time. He has received plenty of interest from several Power 5 schools already.
Moore has received offers from 33 programs. He picked Indiana over Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Texas A&M.
The Hoosiers have posted back-to-back winning seasons in 2019 and 2020, making bowl appearances both years.
