A police report has surfaced that claims former Penn State head coach Joe Paterno may have been aware of sexual abuse involving Jerry Sandusky several years before the defensive coordinator was arrested.

According to a police report obtained by CNN, Mike McQueary told Paterno what he had witnessed in the locker room between Sandusky and a young boy in 2001. Paterno allegedly told McQueary that this “was the second complaint of this nature he had received.”

Sandusky was arrested in 2011, 10 years after McQueary witnessed the incident.

The report contradicts Paterno’s testimony in 2012, as he stated that he “had ‘no inkling’ that Sandusky might be a sexual deviant.” Some evidence indicates that the ex-head coach might have known about incidents as early as the 1970s.

More information on the police report and Paterno’s knowledge of Sandusky’s heinous acts are detailed on CNN.com.
