Purdue picked up some steam on the recruiting trail Tuesday, landing a pair of prospects for 2023.

The first commitment of the day came from Terrell Washington Jr., a 5-foot-10 and 185 lb. running back out of Wylie, Texas. Washington has gone unrated by the composite rankings but has generated Power 5 offers from Washington State, Duke, Vanderbilt and Utah.

The other commitment came from Micah Carter, a 3-star defensive lineman out of Louisville, Kentucky. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 260 lbs., Carter chose Purdue over offers from Michigan State, Louisville, Arizona State and Boston College, among others.

According to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Carter is the No. 2 player out of Kentucky for the class of 2023 and the No. 52 DL in the country. The Boilermakers are now up to 7 verbal commitments for the 2023 cycle.
