There are some changes coming to Purdue basketball’s coaching staff.

Gold and Black Illustrated reported on Friday that two former Boilermakers will be joining the staff in West Lafayette as graduate assistants. Former guards Tommy Luce and Spike Albrecht will both be back at Purdue for the 2021-22 season.

Luce spent four seasons at Purdue. He appeared in 36 career games while in West Lafayette. He was credited with scoring 16 points and dishing out 13 assists during his career with the Boilermakers.

Albrecht spent one season with the Boilers, graduate transferring from Michigan. In his lone season at Purdue, Albrecht played in 28 games and averaged 1.6 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists while logging 12.5 minutes per contest.

The other change to Purdue’s staff is P.J. Thompson. The former graduate assistant and Boilermaker guard will now be the director of player development for the basketball program.

Thompson played at Purdue from 2014-18. He scored 733 career points, registered 261 assists and recorded 103 steals during his career in West Lafayette.
