Jacobsen, who hails from Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, is the No. 137 player nationally, the No. 26 center and the No. 2 player out of New Hampshire according to 247Sports composite. He picked the Boilermakers of Wisconsin, Creighton and several others.
The commitment comes at a great time as Purdue big man Zach Edey, the former National Player of the Year, is set to play his senior season. Having Jacobsen on the roster will provide Purdue with some much needed size as they look to replace Edey’s production next year.
Purdue is set to tip off its season on Monday against Samford. The Boilermakers put together an outstanding 29-6 season last year, but their championship hopes were cut short in a fluke upset by Farleigh Dickinson.
