A Louisiana wide receiver has committed to Purdue.
The Boilermakers received a verbal pledge from 6-foot-1, 180-pound wide receiver Curtis Deville out of Louisiana. He held offers from Florida State, Louisville, Western Kentucky, Tulane, North Texas and Southern during the recruiting cycle. Deville made his announcement with a post on Twitter.
“Most importantly I would like to thank my parents for sacrificing their time and investment to get me here. Without them I wouldn’t be here,” Deville wrote. “I would also like to thank my coaches for believing in me and keeping me accountable to get me here.”
Thank God for giving me the opportunity to play at the next level.🖤💛@CoachBiagi @CoachShephard @JeffBrohm #boilerup pic.twitter.com/b3SvGFOfGu

Deville ranks as the No. 120 wide receiver in the class and the No. 37 prospect out of Louisiana, according to 247Sports Composite. In addition to playing football, he also plays basketball and runs track.
While Purdue has multiple recruits committed in the 2022 class listed as athletes, Deville is the first of the cycle to be listed as a receiver who has pledged to the Boilers. He became the 13th member of a Purdue class that ranks No. 31 nationally and No. 7 in the nation.
