Purdue quarterback Aidan O’Connell is a game-time decision for Saturday’s game vs. Minnesota.

Jeff Brohm announced that news on Wednesday afternoon:

It’s not clear what’s going on with O’Connell, who played last weekend in a loss to Northwestern. He completed 28-of-51 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns.

Last week’s loss to the Wildcats was Purdue’s first of the season.

It would be a big problem for the Boilermakers if O’Connell isn’t able to play. He’s currently leading the Big Ten in passing yards per game with 305.3 yards per game. He’s also thrown seven touchdowns compared to just two interceptions. His completion percentage is a solid 64.7 percent.

If O’Connell can’t go, it’s expected his backup will be Jack Plummer. He completed 59.8 percent of his passes last season in seven games but has not thrown a pass in 2020.

Purdue and Minnesota will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday.
