And on Thursday, the Boilermakers confirmed a future home-and-home series with an SEC school:

Rumors swirled last month about Purdue and Ole Miss meeting each other, but now, it’s official. In 2033, Purdue will visit Ole Miss and in 2034, Ole Miss will play at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Along with the Big Ten-SEC news, the Boilermakers added FCS foe Western Illinois to their 2028 schedule. The game will be played on Sept. 2.
“Purdue also announced today that it has scheduled a home game with Western Illinois for Sept. 2, 2028,” Tom Dienhart of goldandblack.com wrote. “The Boilermakers are 1-0 all-time against the Leathernecks with a 31-21 win Sept. 11, 2010, at Ross-Ade.”
