Purdue men’s hoops wasn’t able to get the most out of forward Trey Kaufman-Renn last season due to a knee injury. He is looking to make a comeback after having all this extra time to recover and work on his game.

The Boilermakers big man played in 4 games before his injury last November sidelined him for the entire season. He now has 4 seasons worth of eligibility left at Purdue, and is excited for 2022. Kaufman-Renn believes that he has the versatility to make a lot of plays for the Boilermakers.

“This is by far the best I’ve felt,” said. Kaufman-Renn. “Even when I was practicing last year. I can be fast, run the break, play more of a guard position, but also make sure I’m strong enough to be a mismatch.”

Kaufman-Renn is an in-state product who hails from Sellersburg, Indiana and was a former 4-star PF from the 2021 class per the 247Sports Composite. If he can do what he says he can, then Purdue will be very lucky to have him back on the court this season.
