Michigan may have won the football game on Saturday, but Purdue wasn’t going to let Jim Harbaugh bash its athletic facilities without consequence.

After Harbaugh went on a two-minute rant about how “unsanitary” and outdated the visitor’s locker room and accommodations were at Ross-Ade Stadium, Purdue issued a response, more-or-less blaming the Michigan head coach for not being prepared for Saturday’s contest.

Here’s the full response from the university, as tweeted out by Mike Carmin of the Journal & Courier.

Purdue claims that a Michigan football staffer conducted a walk-thru of the facility back in July and there were no issues or concerns that were raised at the time.

Harbaugh also complained because there was no air conditioning in the locker room and claimed it was similar to a “hot box.” But in the statement Purdue released, the university claimed it informed Michigan that there was no air conditioning and a special request needed to be made in advance if the team required specific accommodations.

Purdue received no official request.

Typically Harbaugh fires off some sort of response in these situations. We’ll see if the Michigan head coach has any more complaints or arguments to send Purdue’s direction.
