Purdue has announced a future home-and-home series with North Carolina.
The first game will take place in 2027 as Purdue hosts North Carolina. The Tar Heels will then host their leg of the home-and-home in 2031.
The Boilermakers made it official with a Tweet on Thursday afternoon:

This will be the first meeting between these two teams.
Purdue will continue a trend of facing strong, power conference opposition outside the Big Ten. In addition to North Carolina, the Boilermakers are scheduled to face Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, TCU and Ole Miss in the next 15 years.
As for this season, Purdue’s 2020 campaign appears to be winding down. Its Week 8 rivalry game vs. Indiana was mutually canceled due to COVID-19. It’s possible the Boilermakers will have a Week 9 opponent.
Purdue is 2-4 this season, but Jeff Brohm’s squad has suffered some unlucky and controversial losses. Purdue is now 19-25 in Brohm’s tenure.
